Pediatric First Aid

 

This course contains information on how to manage illnesses and injuries in a patient during the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The core course content covers:

 

• First Aid Basics
• Medical Emergencies
• Injury Emergencies
• Environmental Emergencies

 

The 4 hour Pedi First Aid Course qualifies for 3 year renewal for daycare provider, per ODJFS rules.

 

The modular design and optional pediatric first aid topics allow child care facilities to tailor the program to their needs or meet regulatory agency requirements.

 

Optional pediatric first aid modules are:

 

• Pediatric first aid topics (eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and marine animal bites and stings)
• CPR and AED use
• Asthma care training for child care providers
